Question: Where can I find talented, motivated, well-trained and loyal technicians in my area?
Answer: Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) provides all of the above and gives you a chance to get more involved with your local high school. Several thousand dealerships and aftermarket service employers are already participating. If you don’t get involved with AYES, you’re letting your competition get ahead.
AYES is a true school-to-career initiative delivered through affiliated public high schools with industry accredited programs. AYES helps pair qualified students with your business for a mentored internship. AYES students are bright young adults from your community, committed to careers as service technicians. Their automotive knowledge and aptitude is verified by the instructor and through classroom work, and students are pre-screened prior to applying for a one-on-one mentoring in your service department. These students come eager to advance their in-classroom learning and to be molded by you, to your standards and practices, through a process that literally, allows you to “grow your own technician.” And you can expand the opportunity for your new technicians by encouraging them to enter a OEM post-secondary institution
Many of today’s young men and women are looking for careers that offer them the chance to turn their passion for cars into a lifetime opportunity. AYES is a nationally recognized business and education partnership of automotive manufacturers and aftermarket service employers, plus state automotive dealer associations and state departments of education. The program combines a rigorous educational process with job shadowing, mentoring, employability skills, and hands-on training to prepare students for entry level positions in the service career in the automotive industry and for important post-secondary opportunities in college or certificate-based schools.
